How To Maximise Space With Office Workstations

If you are feeling like your office is cramped and cluttered, there is an easier and cheaper solution to picking up shop and moving somewhere bigger. It is possible to maximize your available space with the clever use of office workstations.

Look at the current layout of your office area. Is it properly organized? Do the office workstations you have looked cluttered and messy? This is the first area where your space can be maximized. Look at the size of your office. Then look at the number of employees in your office and the kind of work they do – are they call centre operators who need minimal room for paperwork, or are they graphic designers who need a lot of workstation space to layout their designs? A smaller workspace equals a smaller workstation and so on.

The use of storage space in an office is another area that can be maximized with the effective use of workstations. Finding office workstations that include inbuilt storage, in the way of filing drawers and cupboards, will save storage space being installed elsewhere in the office. But remember to give storage space where it is needed, otherwise it will just be wasted – don’t give the IT employees lots of filing space if they do most of their work on a computer, give it to the receptionists who have to keep hardcopies of files.

Do you have some part time employees in the same departments who are in on different days to each other? Perhaps they could share a single office workstation, meaning that you could buy one reasonably sized workstation instead of trying to fit two tiny ones into the space.

There really are a multitude of ways that clever selection and placement of the right office workstations can maximize the space used in your workplace.
